Where is Riviera Maya?
The Riviera Maya runs along the coast of the Yucatan Peninsula in the state of Quintana Roo (Q.Roo), on Mexico's Caribbean coast. Luxury hotels, nature preserves and archeological sites dot the coast along the crystal clear turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea from Cancun, south to Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Route 307 spans the corridor from Cancun to Tulum. Route 180 from Cancun will take you to Chichén Itzá, one of the world's new seven wonders. The island of Cozumel, a divers paradise, can easily be reached by ferry from Playa del Carmen.
